Born April 4, 1950, Bob passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the age of 65.
Bob graduated from East Lansing High School and went to the University of Tennessee. He enlisted in the Army and served in the Vietnam Conflict where he was wounded in service and received the Purple Heart.
Bob loved baseball and was an official scorekeeper, announcer, player, coach and manager for the City of Lansing baseball leagues at Municipal Stadium.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ethel Kramer. Surviving is his daughter, Karen Christner; three grandchildren Cody, Logan and Kaydin Christner; two sisters Patricia Redmond and Carol Beck; nieces and nephews Jeffrey Beck, Chelsea Beck, Katherine (Nathan) Norman and Kimberly (Joshua) Nix. Also special friends Carol (Jim Boucher) Koenig and Nick, and numerous friends.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2015, 10:30 am at the Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI. A gathering in memory of Bob will be held Wednesday, May 13, 7 pm with remarks at 8 pm, Peanut Barrel, East Lansing. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family; please issue checks to Karen Christner, 3458 Corana Way, Naples, FL 34105.
