Robert John Rentschler

East Lansing, Michigan

Born April 3, 1927 in Jackson, Michigan to John and Bernice Rentschler passed away September 1, 2012 at the age of 85. Robert was a long time resident of East Lansing. He held a Ph.D. from Michigan State University. Bob was also a member of Circus Clown Alley #155, known as “Bibity Bob” and “Mr. Bubbles.” He was also a member of the Old Town Poets.

Bob is survived by his son, Steve Rentschler of East Lansing; daughter, Diane Rentschler-Timko of Homewood, IL; dear companion, Jeannie Kubbish; grandchildren, Fred (Jill) Blumenstock of New York, Dan Blumenstock of New Jersey, Kiera Timko and Arianna Timko of IL; nieces and nephews, Mark (Laurie) Rentschler of Paw Paw, Brian Rentschler of Horton; great nieces and nephews, Amanda Beth, Kate and Justin Rentschler of Paw Paw; first cousin, Bill Tallis of Detroit. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marilyn (Smith) Rentschler to whom he was married for 57 years; daughter, Carol Sue; brother Philip Rentschler and his wife, Sandy; and cousin, Dave Tallis.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.at Edgewood United Church, 469 Hagadorn Rd, East Lansing with Interim Pastors officiating, Rev. Dan Plasman and Rev. Jody Betten. Dark clothing is optional!!
