Ronald G. Ferguson, born on May 18, 1940, to Marguerite and Gerald Ferguson, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family, leaving behind a legacy of love, family, and cherished memories.
Ronald, fondly known as Ron, Ronnie, or Ferg, spent his early childhood in Houghton Lake, Michigan, before moving with his family to Haslett. It was in Haslett where Ron's life took a pivotal turn as he met the love of his life, Judy, and became a football and track and field star, and graduated from Haslett High School. Ron and Judy were married April 18, 1959. They recently celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Ron and Judy moved to Florida, where Ron attended barber school. In 1969 Ron transitioned into a Quality Engineer at General Motors, where he retired. He and his buddies continued to utilize his barbering skills late into his life.
Throughout his life, Ron's greatest pride and joy were his family. He is survived by his two beloved children, Kimberly (Dana) Crain and Kristen (Jeffrey) Woodworth. His legacy continues through his three adored grandchildren, Nicole (Matthew) Lenart, Trace Woodworth, and Teagan Woodworth, as well as his great-grandson, Maxen Lenart.
Ron is also remembered by his siblings, Anita (Patrick) Liden and Jerry (June) Ferguson, who shared in his journey and contributed to the fabric of his rich life.
Ron's warmth, kindness, fun-spirited nature, and unwavering love will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. His memory and smile will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Legion Post 269 in Haslett, in Ron's name. A private service will be held to celebrate Ron's life and the indelible mark he left on the world.
