Ronald Aubrey Miller Sr.

Ronald Aubrey Miller Sr. (Ron), age 74, died on May 24th, 2026, at his home in Bath, MI, surrounded by his loving family after a short battle with cancer. Ron was born on June 7th, 1951, in Beckley, West Virginia, to Mary Ann (Hagy) and Frederick Miller.

Ron graduated from Lansing Eastern High School, then he enlisted in the Army shortly after graduation. Ron also served in the 1070th maintenance unit for the National Guard for 19 years. He worked for General Motors and happily retired after 37 years of dedicated service.

Ron married and had two wonderful children, Candy Roseann (John) Thurman and Ronald Miller Jr., through that marriage. After his first marriage ended, he met Cynthia. They celebrated their marriage on August 1, 1986, in Lansing, MI, and shared 40 years of life together. Cynthia had 3 children from her previous marriage: Ricky (Meredith) Holey Jr., Jason Holey, and Benjamin (Sharla) Holey. Together, Ron and Cynthia raised their children as one big family. This now includes 26 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Ron's family was his life.

Ron was a member of the Mid Michigan Street Road Association. He loved cars. He also loved going to the casino. Anyone who knew Ron knew he was never without a story to tell or a conversation to share.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ann and Fred Miller; his granddaughter, Lacey Bell; his mother-in-law, Marvel Brown; and his brothers-in-law, Junior Brown and Walter Krukoroski; and his son-in-law, John Thurman.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Cynthia; his only daughter, Candy Thurman; his four sons, Ron Jr., Rick, Jason and Benjamin Holey; his brother, Fred (Dee) Miller; his sister, Hope (Sean) Blythe; several nieces and nephews; and his 26 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Ave, East Lansing, MI 48823, US, on May 29, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service, led by Pastor Mike Geiger, at the same location from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

A Committal Service will take place at Rose Cemetery, 14806 Upton Rd, East Lansing, MI 48823, on May 29, 2026, from 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm.
