Ronald A. Robinson

Ron was born on June 26, 1940 in Fort Benning, GA to 1st Lieutenant Howard Robinson, MD and Mary Doreen (Sloan) Robinson of Wayne, MI and passed away February 4, 2017. Ron attended school throughout the ninth grade and was active in the Boy Scouts. He enrolled and graduated from Riverside Military Academy of Gainesville, GA in May, 1958. He proudly served his country in the Air Force. He met Joy Ellen McVittie and they married May 9, 1964. They returned to Michigan in 1970 after Ron resigned from the Air Force. Ron was an Air Traffic Controller and also held several other positions of employment throughout his work career. He was very active in the Boy Scouts of America becoming a Cub master, training other adult leaders and mentoring many children. He eventually was appointed to Scouting Coordinator with the local PTA and then on to Asst. District Commissioner and lastly, serving on the District Advancement Committee.

Ron was preceded in death by parents, Dr. Howard and Mary Doreen Robinson. Surviving are his wife, Joy; son, Michael Alan (ElizaBeth); daughters, Laurie Beth and Deborah Jo (Christopher Morrissey) and grandchildren, Alexander, Jacob, Samuel, Isabelle and Andrew. He is also survived by sisters, JoAnne Schimmelpfenneg and Nancy Miesler and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 9, 11:00 a.m., Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing, with Pastor Paul Hahm officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
