Rosetta Kathryn McGunn Magley

Mrs. Magley was born to Elizabeth and William McGunn on July 13, 1912 in Hubbardston, Michigan and died on July 30, 2010 after a full and wonderful life. She married Louis Magley on June 13, 1934 and together they raised five children. Mrs. Magley retired at the age of 70 after 41 years as a secretary with the Michigan Department of Transportation. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; sister and brother-in-law, Marian and Owen Mumaw of Greenville; daughter-in-law, Judy Magley (Wife of Gary); and grandson, Jeremy Kenneth Wight of Ann Arbor. Mrs. Magley is survived by her children, Darlene Robinson of East Lansing, Gary Magley of Laingsburg, Linda (Jim) Wight of Ann Arbor, Mike (Karen) Magley of St. Johns and Debbie (Stan) Freund of Lansing; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Road, East Lansing with the Rev. Mark Inglot officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM with the Rosary at 7:30 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Avenue, East Lansing. The family will also be available one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of A Family Affair, the adult care center where Mrs. Magley resided, also to Sparrow Hospice for the wonderful care given to their mother.
