

Laingsburg
Age 100, passed away on January 15, 2015. She was born April 17, 1914 in Blissfield, MI to Robert and Rose (Sweet) Kelley. Ruth has been a resident of Laingsburg since 1954. She retired from the State of Michigan in 1977, was the first female school bus driver for Stoner School District and was also a cook at school. She loved to cook for family and friends, enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, fishing, camping, the out-of-doors, and traveling after retirement. She also played the piano and organ and was a Girl Scout leader.
She was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Howard Jenks (2005), brothers Harold and Roy and sister, Edna.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Jennings and Carol (John) Palembas; five grandchildren Kim (Brenda) Jennings, Kelly (Sheri) Jennings, Elaine (Mark) Curtis, Carolyn (Kris) Morse and Stephanie (Tim) Liess; eight great-grandchildren, Michael, Crystal, Matthew, Johnathon, Seraiah, Heather, Jami and Adrianna, and eleven great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Monday, January 19, 2015, noon at Bath Baptist Church, 13527 Webster Street, Bath, MI 48808 with the Rev. Desmond Bell and Rev. Nathan D. Gregory officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 18, 2015 2-6 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Youth Haven Ranch, P. O. Box 97, Rives Junction, MI 49277 in memory of Ruth.
