Age 72, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 2, 2011. Samir was born July 6, 1939 in Alexandria, Egypt. He was preceded in death by his parents Naguib Bishai and Galila Awad; brothers Fouad and Kamal Bishai; brothers-in-law Salama Ayad, Shafik Kamel and sister-in-law Isis Assad. He is survived by his sisters Aida and Samira Bishai, Magda (Nabil)Seif; his brothers Adel Bishai, Magdy (Samia) Bishai, Mackram (Dr. Magda) Bishai, Mokhtar (Victoria) Bishai; sister-in-law Sophie Bishai; many nephews, nieces and their families.

Samir was a beloved brother and uncle, loved spending time with family, laughing, having fun with friends and working on his computers.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 5, 2011 from 5-8 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 1730 East Grand River Ave., East Lansing, MI. A funeral service will be held at Noon on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 2780 Haslett Road, East Lansing, MI 48823 with Fr. Mina Essak and Fr. Maximus Habib of St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church of Troy officiating. Interment will follow in East Lawn Memory Gardens, Okemos. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church, 3603 Livernois, Troy, MI 48083 in memory of Samir.
