

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Teruko, of Okemos, Michigan; his daughter Yuko and her husband, Jeffrey Thomas, of London, England and their daughters Sophie and Ivy; his brothers Masaru Miyazaki, of Tokyo, Japan and Kaoru Miyazaki, of Kamakura, Japan, and several nephews and nieces.
Satoru earned an undergraduate degree in Agricultural Science from The University of Tokyo, a Master of Science degree in Entomology from the University of Hawaii, Honolulu, as an East-West Center Scholar, and a PhD in Entomology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
He spent his career working in agricultural science, most notably 40 years at Michigan State University in the Department of Entomology as a Regional Coordinator for the IR-4 Project, a program charged to ensure that safe and effective pest management solutions are available for growers of specialty crops and for minor uses.
He will be remembered as a die-hard Spartan fan, bon vivant and gourmand, and most of all, a kind and loving husband, father and grandfather.
A celebration of life service will be held at Gorsline Runciman East Lansing Chapel, 1730 E Grand River Ave
