Dr. King was Professor Emeritus of the Michigan State University College of Nursing.
Sharon loved people and saw beauty all around her. She was a loving wife and mother and an incredibly proud grandmother.
Preceded in death by her dearly loved husband, Darrell; treasured daughter, Amy and cherished parents.
Surviving are daughters, Nancy Ann (Frank) Swierz of Saline, MI, Carol Lynn (Joe) Porkka of Bellevue, WA and son-in-law, Ken Lock of Grosse Pointe, MI; grandchildren, Katherine Swierz, Eli Porkka, Owen Porkka, Evan Lock and Andrew Lock; brothers, Larry (Jenny) Hammond and Richard Hammond.
A memorial service will be held September 15, 2018 from 1 pm - 3 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing.
