Sharon Kay Skinner

She is survived by her 3 children, Jamie (Norm) Rapson, Greg (Dawn) Skinner, and Brad Skinner; 3 grandchildren, Nikki Skinner, Cindy Craft, and Brandy Bielicki. Sharon was preceded in death by the love of her life, Gerald “Jerry” Skinner, her son, James “Jim” Ehinger, and her parents, Wesley and Margaret Kouts.

Sharon graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Education and was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. As a faithful Spartan, she enjoyed season football tickets for many years. Sharon’s two passions included travel and the theatre. Her love for travel led her to Classic Travel where she acted as a Cruise Consultant. She gained much of her cruise knowledge through annual Christmas cruises with her family. Sharon was a volunteer at the Wharton Center where she further developed her love of theatre and gained many close friends. She was an active member of The Junior League of Lansing.

During the winter months, Sharon spent time in Siesta Key, Florida, where she enjoyed the warm sun, beautiful white sand beach and the many friends that she gained during the years. When not in Siesta Key or going to lunch with her friends, you could often find Sharon on her patio in Okemos reading a magazine, chatting with her neighbors, and soaking in the sun.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for Memorial Contributions to be made in Sharon’s name to Wharton Center – Seats 4 Kids, 750 E. Shaw Lane, East Lansing, MI 48824
