
Throughout her life Shirley enjoyed watching the abundant wildlife that visited the feeders at her home. She also took great pleasure in the companionship her beloved cats provided over the years.
For over 25 years, Shirley battled Parkinson’s with a gritty and heroic discipline, walking and exercising to limit the effects of the disease. She always exhibited a positive attitude and grace.
Shirley and her husband Gordon were among the founding members of the Lansing Muzzle Loading Gun Club; with Shirley being the first woman to hold office. Shirley was a tremendous shot, outshooting many of the men.
Shirley is pre deceased by Gordon, her husband of 44 years and her brother, Cecil Dodge. She is survived by two daughters, Suzanne of DeWitt and Annette (Phil) Wolfe of Holt; brother-in-law, Dr. James (Chris) Olivier of Georgia; Willard Holt of New Hampshire and special family friend Terry Johnston of Utah.
In accordance with Shirley’s wishes there will be no memorial service. Inurnment will be planned for a later date in New Hampshire. Shirley will be remembered as a great cook and exceptional wife and mother, and above all a lady.
