Swayam is a deep-soul person who kept searching for the meaning of life and found light and beginnings in sunsets. Swayam's joy for life, love and people – combined with a pride in her humble beginnings and refused to forget where she came from.
Swayam operated the very first East Indian Restaurant, known as "Unique Food of India" in the greater Lansing area during the years 1984-1993 and later moved to East Lansing location across MSU Campus in 1993. Swayam's publication of two East Indian Cook Books brought her local media publicity and of political Who's Who, including then State of Michigan Senators Sederberg and Debbie Stabinow.
No funeral service events are currently scheduled due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Swayam was married to a loving husband, Balaram "B.K.", an Engineer at Michigan Department of Transportation for well over 53 years. Swayam and her husband have traveled the U.S. in a travel trailer for recreation with children as they were growing up.
Swayam is survived by her loving husband, two grown children Jyothi and Naveen and four grandchildren Kai, Jack, Kael and Joy.
Swayam's legacy is "To Live and Let Live and Abandon Wars and Weapons of Mass Destruction."
A memorial service for Swayam is planned during June 2021.
