Thomas Lawrence was born on December 6, 1945, to Arthur and Margaret Lawrence and died suddenly on January 3, 2025, at University of Michigan Health Sparrow Hospital. Tom spent his childhood in Marshall, Michigan, but spent the majority of his adult life in Sebring, Florida, working for Highlands County. For the last nine years, Tom was a resident of Burcham Hills Retirement Center in East Lansing, Michigan, where he was known for his soft voice and friendly smile.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, his loving aunts Dorothea Lawrence and Ruth Martin and nephew Grant Lawrence. He is survived by his brothers Dr. Richard Lawrence (Joyce) of Ann Arbor and Jack Lawrence (Beth) of East Lansing, by his nephews Benjamin, Tobias and Theodore Lawrence, by his grand- nephews James, Sevrin, and Otto, by grand-nieces Lola, Jane and Kyra and by cousins Judy Perdue, Carol Triano, and Jane Koslap. Tom will be buried next to his parents at Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Avon Park, Florida. The family will gather at a later date to honor Tom’s memory.
