Born September 22, 1926 in Jackson, Michigan to Julius and Ethel Hoffman, passed away January 31, 2012 at the age of 85.
Vincent served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a missionary in South Korea for 15 years. He retired from MSU after 35 years as a professor. Vincent was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
Vincent is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary; his daughter M. Elizabeth Hoffman and son, Saad Ouahidi; brother, Robert (Pat) Hoffman and 3 sisters, Mary Pangborn, Cecille Smoker and Janet (Art) Duffy and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 3, at 11a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 955 Alton Rd, East Lansing. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lansing, with Military graveside service. The family will receive friends at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Ave, East Lansing on Thursday, February 2, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where a Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in Vincent’s memory.
