Virginia Lee MacGillivray, 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 11, 2019 in Okemos, Michigan. Born April 15, 1929 in Flint, Michigan to Rueben and Ruth (Ellinger) Mars, Virginia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who's family was her joy in life. She enjoyed ceramics, bowling, golfing, and volunteering, primarily with Meals on Wheels, the Sparrow Hospital Surgical Lounge, and her church, Haslett Community Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 70 years, Lee MacGillivray; her daughters, Lynda (Ted) Foster, Melody (the late Will) King, Deborah (Mark) Miller, Virginia (Alidor) Lefere, and Gail (Jim) Schaibly; her grandchildren, Lee King, Andrew (Allison) Foster, Theodore (Sara) Foster, Alidor Lefere, Kevin (Camille) Lefere, Kristin (Pete) Brady, Mac (Melissa) Miller, Brad (Michelle) Miller, Curtis (Nicole) Schaibly, and Jake Schaibly; her 19 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Jerry (Carolyn) Mars.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 17 at 11:00am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
