

Walter Frederick Stuible, of East Lansing, Michigan passed away at home on Monday, February 7, 2022 at the age of 86. He was born to Raphael and Margaret Stuible on December 18, 1935. He spent his childhood in Howell, MI with his older siblings, Robert Stuible, Barbara Espie and Helen Ramsey. He met his wife of 66 years, Barbara Jean Warren, while working at Citizens in Howell. They were married on November 12, 1955 and began their adventure raising four children and establishing their legacy as beloved grandparents and great-grandparents.
He will live forever in the hearts of his wife, Barb, and his children, Neal (LuAnn), Dane (Cathy), Nancy (Lee) Schaffert, and Judy (Randy) McCowan. Walt took great pride in his eleven grandchildren; Scott, Chad, Kelly, Curtis, Kevin, Craig, Hannah, Nicholas, Kirsten, Shay, Connor and their spouses. He supported their every endeavor and attended all of their activities. He was blessed with eleven great-grandchildren, who loved him beyond measure; Julia, Lily, Loretta, Ruby, Claire, Eleanor, Ronni, Lucy, James, Sylvia, and Josiah,
Walt enjoyed a career in technology as head of Data Processing for Central Michigan University and then as Systems Analyst for the State of Michigan. In his spare time, he enjoyed photography and woodworking and made great lasting friendships while golfing with his buddies. He taught his grandkids how to play Chess, and never turned down a good game of Cribbage.
He and Barb traveled the country in their RoadTrek visiting family in California and Florida, sightseeing along the way. With his friends he experienced backpacking the Grand Canyon from rim to rim. His most recent trip was to Alaska with Barb, Nancy and Judy which highlighted the Iditarod and a train ride through the countryside. Walt shared his masterful bad-dad jokes wherever he went.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022, at 11:00 am, Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, East Lansing Chapel, 1730 E Grand River Ave, East Lansing, MI (517-337-9745), with a one-hour visitation prior, starting at 10:00 am. Please join us for a luncheon following the service at the funeral home.
