William Lee Feguer
April 26, 1933 – March 11, 2023
Eighty-nine years old and eleven months
Wellesley, Massachusetts
William (Bill) was born to August Arnold Feguer and Florence Rhoda Rathbun Feguer, on April 26, 1933 in Lansing, Michigan. Bill married Cora (Bunny) Lynne Klettke on December 13, 1952. Bill and Cora picked this date to honor, his grandmother, Ida Mae Feguer, Born on December 13, 1873.
Bill attended and graduated from General Motors Institute, which is now Kettering University. Bill was a designee engineer for Oldsmobile for over 25 years. Bill had a very rewarding career at Oldsmobile, becoming the youngest Forman in their history. He then eclipsed this achievement by becoming the youngest General Forman for Oldsmobile, Lansing, Michigan. Later, Bill would return to school and then advance to become a Quality Control Supervisor for Oldsmobile/General Motors. During this time Bill was approached to work on a porotype car, called the “KNIGHT RIDER”. After retirement from General Motors, Bill was recruited to work on the General Motors’ Saturn Project. With this opportunity, Bill travel around the world, seeking creative ideas for the new Saturn Project.
One of Bill’s most cherished times in life was being an Eagle Scout Master. Bill took on this position for his nephew, Mark Lee Feguer. Bill made sure that Mark was fully represented. Items that Bill, Mark and August made for the Boys Scouts are still being used in their ceremonies today. Bill also taught his three daughters everything that the Eagle Scouts were taught. Bill was an Elder in his Church. A position he never talked about but was always available to be of service, especially for widows and young families.
After Bill’s second retirement he and wife, Cora (Bunny) moved to Wellesley, MA (1998) to be near his youngest daughter and newest granddaughters.
To our surprise, our father was an artist. Bill’s wood carvings are much sought after pieces of work. He hand carved and made clocks for each family member. Granddaughters and great-granddaughters, each have beautiful jewelry boxes. The only great-grandson has a complete carved wooden train set.
Humor. Bill found humor in everything. During his long confinement in the hospital, he joked with the nurses so much they never knew what to expect. They would always leave the room laughing.
“This is the day the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it”. Psalm 118;24
This was Bill’s favorite scripture and model for his and his family.
