William "Jerry" C. Gieszer
September 10, 1921 – August 9, 2018
Jerry Gieszer passed away at home August 9, 2018. Jerry was born September 10, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Michael and Kathern (Knapp) Gieszer.
He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII and retired Captain in the Air Corp Reserves. Jerry was a lifetime member of MSU Alumni Association and American Legion. He was an Honorary Faculty Member at MSU School of HRIM. Jerry served as a Boy Scout leader and in later life could be found with his wife at local craft shows. He and his wife, Suzanne, were honored as one of the first Super Fans at Okemos High School. Jerry is predeceased by his children, Michael Gieszer and Mary Kay Myers. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne; children, Nancy Mead, Bill (Vicki) Mead, Anne (Dave) Paulson and Laurie (Kurt) Varner; daughter-in-law, Kim (Tom) Sigelko; 13 grandchildren including Chaya (Scott) Henkel and Joshua (Katrina) Gieszer and 3 great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held September 8, 2018 from 11am-1pm at Coral Gables, 2838 E Grand River Ave., E Lansing, MI 48823.
