

He was a proud graduate of Monsignor Gabriels High School Class of 1968. Bill dedicated nearly three decades of his professional career to Michigan State University (MSU), where he managed food service in residence halls from January,1976 until his well-earned retirement in June, 2005. Bill was an avid Detroit Tiger and Michigan State Spartan fan who spent countless hours attending and ushering at MSU football, basketball and hockey games.
He remained athletic throughout his life, playing on local softball, basketball, and pickleball teams. His diverse hobbies included bicycling, model railroading, and spending endless hours tending to his beautiful flower garden. He also deeply enjoyed traveling to visit his very dear cousins and relatives in the Cleveland area.
Bill's passion for horticulture led him to graduate from the Master Gardener Program in 1996. Following this, he became a devoted volunteer at the MSU Horticulture Gardens, where he shared his knowledge by teaching "Butterfly" and "Seeds of Science" classes to visiting school children, while also working on numerous den projects. His dedication earned him the prestigious distinction of being named Docent of the Year three times.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, William and Ann Price.
Bill is survived by his loving siblings: sisters Barbara Gearhart (Rick) of Greensboro, GA; Maureen Price (David Ombrello) of Encinitas, CA; Marsha Price of San Francisco, CA; brother James Price of Wyandotte, Ml. He is also survived by his nephews; Stephen Gearhart, Jacob Larach and Julian Larach; niece, Michelle Gearhart, and his two great-nieces, Gabrianna and Kierstyn Gearhart. Bill also leaves behind his very special friend, Judy Mead, whose companionship and time spent together he deeply treasured.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 11 :00 AM, followed immediately by a Memorial Mass at 12:00 PM at St. Martha Parish, located to 1100 W. Grand River Ave, Okemos, Ml 48864. We request you wear something green.
ln lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the MSU Children's Garden in Bill's name.
