Albert William Stiles

East Peoria: Albert W. Stiles ( affectionately known as Grampa Grape), 84, of East Peoria passed away at 8:10 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, surrounded by his family.

Albert was born January 25,1929 in Peoria, the son of James R. & Irene A Saulsberry Stiles. He married Mary M. Smith on June 17, 1947 in East Peoria.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 66 years; one son David (Susie) of Mapleton; one daughter, Angie Stiles Richardson of Peoria; four grandchildren, Tracey (Chad) Harlan, Jennifer (Charles) Young, David Aaron (Kara) Stiles and Tori N. Richardson; six great-grandchildren; one sister, JoRene (Gerald) Nevitt of Lake Wales, FL.

Albert is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James; two sons, Bertie L. Stiles, and Timothy Brian Stiles.

Albert worked as a long distance truck driver for 40 years until retirement in 1991. He was a wonderful husband and father. For many years Albert was very active in the church founded by his parents, The East Peoria Church of God, including being the song director for many years. His faith was an inspiration to many. His humor and loving kindness will be missed by many who knew him. He was currently a member of Glad Tidings Assemblies of God in East Peoria.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God in East Peoria. Rev. Fred Doughty will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Burial will be in Roberts Cemetery in Morton.
