Annetta Gertrude Smith Tyre

She was born August 29, 1916 in Terre Haute, Indiana, the daughter of Ralph and Mary Ethel Solomon Smith. She married John Tyre September 21, 1937 in Wabash, Indiana. He preceded her in death on August 13, 1990 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one sister.

Annetta worked for Rohn Mfg. for 20 years. She was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington. She was a member of Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile.

Annetta is survived by her son, Albert (Kathryn) Tyre of West Peoria; four grandchildren, Michael (Christine) Tyre of Troy, Illinois, David Tyre of Princeville, James (Shannon) Tyre of Princeville, Daniel (Jennifer) Tyre of Peoria; eight great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

There will be private family services at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria on Saturday, October 11, 2014. Pat Gareau will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Morton. Memorials may be made to Crossroads United Methodist Church or St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
