He was born in Peoria, IL, to Armond Bernard Ciota Sr. and Evelyn (Risburg) Ciota. He married Sharon McBride on April 23, 1960, and they later divorced. Armond then married Cheryl (Warren) Luthy on April 4, 1986 in Peoria.
Surviving are his wife, Cheryl Ciota of Eureka; 4 children; Matthew Ciota of Buda, TX, Liz (Rich) Faron of Berwyn, IL, Thomas (Karen) Ciota of Yelm, WA, Nathan (Julie) Ciota of Peoria, IL, and 2 stepsons; Steven (Lois) Luthy of Maryville, IL and Scott (Karen) Luthy of St. Louis, MO; 10 grandchildren, TJ, Cannon, Sharadyn, Sean, Joe, Ben, Christina, Zachary, Sasha and Jacob and 2 great-grandchildren, Luna and Kinsley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and bother-in-law Joy and Don Epley, daughter-in-law Paula Veazey Ciota, and granddaughter Morgan Ciota.
Armond graduated from Manual Training High School in Peoria. He then went to work at the family business Ciota’s Deli and Specialty Foods at Western and Butler, Peoria IL.
Armond eventually became owner of the family business. Armond loved socializing and helping customers. He also enjoyed spending time with and cooking for his family. Armond was a huge history buff and participated in the Peoria Civil War Reenactments in the 70’s. He was also a founding member of the CILF (Central Illinois Landmark Foundation) since its conception.

Celebration of Life to be held Saturday November 9 at 5pm, Agatucci’s on University St, Peoria IL.
Burial of cremated remains will be at St Mary’s Cemetery in Peoria, at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Peoria Women’s Club or the GAR Hall, Peoria.
