

East Peoria – Barbara Lorene Eisenhauer, 84, of East Peoria, IL passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016 at her residence. She was born February 6, 1932 in Sioux City, IA to Thomas and Thelma (Hobbs) Arnold. Barbara married Roger A. Eisenhauer on August 1, 1952 in Rapid City, SD. Roger preceded her in death on March 17, 1994. Surviving are her four children: Linda Eisenhauer of Peoria Heights, IL, Sharon (Danny) Alexander of East Peoria, IL, Valerie Sullivan of Dallas, TX, and Thomas Eisenhauer of Peoria, IL, two grandchildren: Andy Alexander and Erin (Bryan) Rowold, her sister-in-law Sue Eisenhauer, and four nieces and their families. Barbara was also preceded in death by her parents, half-brother Robert Clark, and her brother-in-law John Eisenhauer.
Barbara was a long time member of Faith Lutheran Church in Washington, a member of their banner committee, and a member of the Methodist Service League for many years. Barbara was a life-long artist and former member of the Peoria Art Guild. She used her talents to help paint the original nativity scene for the Festival of Lights. Barbara was also an avid bridge player and belonged to many clubs over the years. While growing up, she loved spending summers in the Black Hills of South Dakota on her aunt and uncle’s ranch. Those summers inspired her love for nature and animals which she passed on to all of her children. Services will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Pastor John Rothfusz will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 – 12 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fondulac Cemetery. Memorials may be made to T.A.P.S. or P.A.W.S.
