Barbara J. Rowland, 90, of Peoria, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Farmington Village. Born in Peoria, on June 25, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary "Ethel" (Byers) Graham. She married Angelo Scachette and they had eight children. On March 9, 1974, she married Carl Rowland. He preceded her in death on November 5, 2020.
Surviving Barb are her six children, Mike Scachette, Brenda (Rick) Sherman, Russ (Cathy) Scachette, Rhonda Kupfert, Jerry (Gail) Scachette, and Diana (Ray) Clover; 13 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Aside from her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by twin children in infancy; and three siblings, Mary Waldren, Robert Graham, and Frank Graham.
Barb was employed as a waitress and hostess for many years. She has served at the Peoria County Club, Mt. Hawley Country Club, and The Peppermill in Morton. She was a member of Redeemer Presbyterian Church and enjoyed playing piano, doing needlework, playing board games, and cooking. Above all else, she gave herself to the Lord and her family.
Visitation will take place on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Remmert Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery.
