Eureka, IL– Barry C. Maxwell, 63, of Eureka, passed away at 5:43 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria.

He was born Aug. 28, 1949 in Peoria, IL to Robert O. and Lorraine (Relker) Maxwell Sr. He married Pamela Larson in East Peoria on April 23, 1983. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother of Peoria; 4 children, Barry Sean (Tanya) Maxwell of East Peoria, Chantel Renee Maxwell of East Peoria, Rachel Leann Nelson of Yokosuka, Japan, Clayton Dean (fiancé, Rebecca) Maxwell of Normal; and 7 grandchildren, Brendan, Zachary, Olivia, Isabelle, Alea, Emily, and Trey. He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Robert Jr.; and infant granddaughter, Ashalyn Rain.

Barry was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, receiving the Bronze Star. He worked as a truck driver for Cox Transfer of Eureka and Butternut before retiring.

Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria with Rev. Fred Doughty officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.

aunt pam.....he will always and forever be with you and will always live in your heart!! you are sooooo loved and cared about....he may be physicaly gone...but hes always around....and just remember you are never saying are sayin see ya will be together again!!! i love you aunt pam!!!! no matter what..dont you ever forget you will never be alone...and you are sarrounded by ppl who will carry you!!
