Betty L Hoagland

She was born March 9, 1937 in Hinton, IL to Gerald and Elsie (Compton) Huber. She married Harold E. Hoagland on July 1, 1956, who preceded her in death on April 15, 2002. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters, and one brother whom she loved dearly.

Surviving are her two children, Cheryl L. (Robert) Sutherland and Kevin E. Hoagland both of Clermont, FL; four grandchildren, Brandon (Nicki) Johnson, Carissa (Aaron) Bickhaus, Matthew Sutherland, and Ashleigh Lawrence; and three great-grandchildren, Angelina Johnson, Peyton Johnson, and Jaxon Bickhaus.

Betty was a graduate of East Peoria High School and worked as a manager with Schierer’s Dairy in Sunnyland for many years. She also attended Crossroads Methodist Church in Washington, IL.

Betty and her husband relocated to Orlando, FL where she worked for Sun Bank until retirement. Upon their retirement, they moved to Maryville, TN where they enjoyed hiking in the Smokey Mountains and attending gospel concerts. In 2017, Betty moved to Florida to live with her daughter, where she enjoyed spending time with her family playing bingo, doing word finds, watching the golden girls and having her favorite nighttime treat of vanilla ice cream. She will be greatly missed and will forever be in our hearts.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Burial will follow the service at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
