Betty J. Jansen

Pekin – Betty J. Jansen, 77, of Pekin, IL, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016 at the OSF Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. She was born Sept. 15, 1939 in Ripley, IL to Richard and Minnie (Morris) Colclasure. Betty married her soul mate Beverly “Bill” Jansen who preceded her in death along with her parents, three brothers, and two sisters.

Betty is survived by her two daughters: Debra (Richard) Magnuson of East Peoria and Kathy (Jay Rennau) Jansen of Creve Coeur, seven grandchildren; Dezi (Josh) Rudd with whom she made her home, Brandi Davis, Bobby (Scott) Brown-Perkins, Mandy (James) Shuda, Bill (Christina) Magnuson, Travis (Ashley) Rennau, and Eric (Alex) Rennau, sixteen great grandchildren; Jordan, Jadan, Kaleb, Kaden, Lil Sara, Tyler, Tierra, Tinley, Joclyn, Brogan, Adelin, Logan, Landen, Gavin, Josh, and Maddison, three brothers; Chuck (Mayce) Colclasure, Sonny (Cheryl) Fuller, and Danny (Shirley) Gillett, and several nieces and nephews who were dear to her heart.

Betty loved spending time with her family and friends. She always had a hot pot of coffee and a smile when family and friends would come for a visit. Betty loved playing cards, especially with her brother Chuck along with her sister-in-laws and great granddaughter Jadan. She enjoyed garage sales with granddaughter Dezi and spending time with her grandchildren. Betty had a very special place in her heart for her beloved dogs and sister-in-law Noni. Betty also enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of children. She was so very loved and will be missed by many.

Services will be held at 10 am Monday, October 3, 2016 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Visitation will be from 4 – 7 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lutheran Cemetery. Online tributes may be left at www.RemmertFuneralHome.com
