Betty Jean Tapp

She was born on July 22, 1936, to Carroll and Francis Louise (Martin) Crisler. She married Jess "Jack" Tapp in East Peoria on May 28, 1955. He preceded her in death.

Also preceding in death are her parents, and her sister Nancy Jacob.

Betty is survived by her three sons, Thomas (Nadia) of Tulsa, Okla., Jess "Jack" (Cindy) of Sebring, FL, and Rob (Terry) of Creve Coeur; one daughter, Kathy (Kevin) Dorethy of East Peoria; eight grandchildren, Aimee (Mitch) Mitchell of Houston, Texas, Amanda (Cole) Gaddy of Tulsa Okla., Shane (Diana) Tapp of Viola, Corey (Chelsea) Tapp of Mapleton, Kaleigh (Matt) Cerda of East Peoria, Kyle Dorethy of Wilmington, N.C., Kary (Jenna) Dorethy of New Windsor, and Kelsey Dorethy of East Peoria; eleven great-grandchildren; her sister, Candida Mordue; and many nieces and nephews.

Betty was a charter member of the East Peoria Boat Club. She was a Cardinal fan and loved watching their games on TV. She also had a passion for playing cards, playing all types, everywhere she went. Betty wintered in Sebring, Florida for many years.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 20, at 1:30 pm, at Fondulac Cemetery. Remmert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
