She was born June 6, 1935 in Cabool, MO to Steve and Opal (Swecker) Savage. She married Terry Tucker in Peoria on April 24, 1954. He preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 1993. She was also preceded by her parents, and one sister, Virginia Ewen.
Surviving are two sons, Steve (Jia Pang) Tucker of Naperville, Greg (Kara) Tucker of East Peoria; three granddaughters, Melissa of East Peoria; and Lea and Jen both of Naperville.
Betty worked as a secretary at Caterpillar Inc. retiring in 1992. She loved to read, crochet, knit, and spend time with her family.
Cremation has been accorded. Memorial Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. There will be no funeral services. Memorials may be made to Harbor Light Hospice.
