

She was born November 10, 1936 in Peoria to Joseph and Eunice (Everts) Planck. She married William R. Schlag November 14, 1954 in East Peoria. He survives along with two daughters: Linda (Rick) Hunt of Pekin, Lora Rauch of Pekin; one son, Alan Schlag of Washington; eight grandchildren: Eric Schlag, Jerrid Hunt, Jennifer Hunt, Nelson Boyer III, Lisa Houston, Mechelle Beaver, Christina Jowers, and Michael Schlag; eight great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Sheryl Low, Marsha Smith and Peggy Warmoltts.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Judy.
Carolyn first worked at Tone Master in Peoria then later for Peoria Charter Coach as a School Bus Driver for the East Peoria School District, retiring in 1987.
She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in East Peoria and a member of the Morton VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 5921.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be Thursday February 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. A visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Thursday. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin at a later date.
Memorials may be made to St. Peters Lutheran Church.
