Catherine G. Pruitt

Catherine "Cathy" Grace Pruitt, 60, of Peoria, passed away at 3:32 pm, Saturday, May 5, 2012at her home inPeoria.

She was bornNovember 2, 1951 in Peoria,IL toDowney andMary E. (Brown) Hewey. She was preceded in death by hermother, one sister,Jane Hewey, and her grandparents, Henry and Ruth Hewey.

Survivingis her father, three children,Colleen (Scott) Franciskovich-Schmidt of Joliet, IL;Christopher (Val)Pruitt andCharles Pruitt both of Peoria, one sister,Nancy (Glen) Ziegler of North Glen, CO and six grandchildren,Zachary, Gwyn,Mimi, Tess, Chevy and James.

Cathygraduated from theSaint Francis School ofNursing and worked as a nurse for several years in the Peoria area.She thenbeganworking with the Head Start Program in Peoria and was theAssistantDirectorof the Early Head Start Program before retiring after more thanten years with the program. She was a lovingmother, grandmother and sister and was a longtime member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church inEast Peoria.

Cremation riteswill be accorded and a memorial servicewill be Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 11:00 am, with a visitationone hour priorto the service atSt. Peter's Lutheran Church. Pastor Kurt Mews will officiate.Remmert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
