Clyde Minson

He was born Aug. 4, 1921 in Herrin, IL to Elmer and Ada (Clutts) Minson. He married Pauline Norvel March 2, 1946 in Marion, IL . She passed away June 21, 2009 in Washington, IL. He was also preceded in death by parents, two sons: Robert and Steve Minson, one brother, Andy Minson, and one sister, Mildred Gregory.

Survivors include four sons: Elmer (Linda) Minson of East Peoria, Stan (Pam) Minson of East Peoria, Doug (Debbie) Minson of Washington, Roger (Dorothy) Minson of East Peoria, twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

Clyde was a WWII Army Veteran. Following WWII Clyde went to work for Caterpillar, Inc. and retired in 1981 after 33 years of service.

He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and played for many years on the Kickapoo Baseball League. He enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening and fishing.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.

Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.

Memorials may be made to the Peoria Area Alzheimer’s Association.
