Darren Keith Buhs

He was born to Andrew D. Buhs Sr. and JoAnn A. Elliot on February 7, 1959 in Peoria, and they preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.

Darren is survived by his daughter, Amanda (Jared Paver) Breeden of East Peoria, brothers, Andy (Terry) Buhs of East Peoria, Randy (Linda) Buhs of East Peoria, and Steve (Kim) Buhs of OK, grandchildren, Jace and Norah Breeden of East Peoria, son-in-law, Kevin Breeden of East Peoria, several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, and his beloved cats.

Darren worked for the City of East Peoria in the maintenance department and retired in 2016. He also worked as an electrician and truck driver. He had a green thumb and a knack for gardening, proven by his stunning 30 year old red rose bush. Darren was an avid collector of glassware, especially mugs and glass bottles. He was readily available to help others with repairs and was very handy.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021 from 4-6 p.m. at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria.

Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation and a private graveside service will be held at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
