I seen butch every day, he would come into hucks gas station on farmdale where I work, he was there friday morning about 8 am, he will truly be missed from his friends at hucks for sure

I want to express my deepest sympathy to Butch's family. I just learned of his passing today. I had the pleasure of working at the PJS with Butch. He was kind and funny and a hard worker. Visiting the pressroom office was always the best place to see the Butch and Nyberg show - lot's of laughs. In all the years I knew Butch I never heard him say anything unkind about anybody. He was a great man who will be remembered by his friends forever.

Butch and his dad taught me everything there was to know about deer hunting.  My wife and I will miss Butch.

I met Butch back in 1994 and he was always a friendly loving big ole teddy bear so sorry for the lose to all of the family and rest in peace Butch you will be missed.

Butch and I became instant friends during our PJS years.  We had some great times, deep conversations and loads of laughs.   He had a giant heart and he will be sorely missed.  Our hearts go out to all who knew him as his passing will leave a empty spot in our lives.  Ride on, Butchie!

Butch will be greatly missed by me and my family. I've known him since the early little league days. The last few years he and Bubba have come down to my families farm and deer hunted with me and my family.  We even have a ground blind called Butch's hog shed. He loved to sit there all day not caring whether or not he saw a deer. He just enjoyed being able to come down with Bubba. Butch's hog shed will set empty this fall but I know he'll still be watching and listening to those darn squirrels.  My thoughts are with Bubba and Butch's sisters whom he spoke of often.  I couldn't have had a better friend!!

My wife, Janet & I worked with Butch @ PJS. We both thought he was a great guy.  We will be praying for his family.

I have worked with Butch for nearly 30 years here at PJS. We started together in the circulation department in the mid 80's. The past 2 years I have worked side-by-side with Butch and got to know him even better. Butch was a great guy with a big heart and would do anything for you. My thoughts and prayers go out to his dad and sister whom I know he was very close to. R.I.P. Butch, you will be greatly missed.

I work here at the SJR in springfield, so I only got to know Butch on the phone for work.  We loved talking to Butch on the phone, he was so funny, so sweet, he always made our days better.  I was so hoping he would come to springfield and ride with us this summer. I know how much everyone loved him there at PJS and everywhere Butch traveled to. I feel so lucky to have known him. Ride those awesome heavenly roads and watch over us my friend until we see you again.  You will be missed every day.

To My Big Buddy Butch.

You helped me be the best bartender that I could be at Valley Tap, We were friends and that is something that no one can ever take away from us. The memories, my friend. You will live in my heart forever.

I was blessed to have such a great friend, our loss is definitely heavens gain. There are not enough words to describe the person he was and the kindness he carried with him. He will be forever missed by those of us who knew him and loved him. Until we meet again, forever rest in peace my friend. I sure am gonna miss you.

I was an editor for a GateHouse paper printed at PJS. When I called in all pages sent, it was a pleasure talking to Butch. We always chatted a minute, and if it was a long night, he always had words of comfort. He also called whenever he saw something amiss. He always wanted the best possible product. And I appreciated that so much. He was a real gem and I send heartfelt condolences to his family.

I worked with Butch in the circulation department of PJS many years ago. I remember the Van Halen concert, a Tennis & Tuxedo cruise and many other fun times with him.  He was one of the kindest and most fun people I've ever known. My condolences to his family and friends.

I have very fond memories of Butch and our "Apple Tree Lane Gang". I will never forget the neighborhood baseball games, snowball fights, and bonfires we had in the side yard of his house during the Summer evenings.  One time the fire was burning low, so Butch threw "a little" gasoline on it and singed the hair on his arms and his eyebrows. He was a great guy and was always there with a helping hand when you needed it. rest in peace, Butchie. You will be missed.
