Dennis L. "Denny" Newell

He was born on Sep. 5, 1959 in Peoria to Amos E. and Shirley (Quick) Newell. He was preceded in death by his father, one brother-in-law, Dennis LaCost, and one nephew, Dennis Amos LaCost.

Survivors include his mother Shirley of East Peoria, one sister, Kathy LaCost of East Peoria, one brother, Larry (Margaret) Newell of East Peoria, his fiancé, Lori Anderson of East Peoria, and six nieces and nephews: Chad (Jill) LaCost, Carrie Bruns, Sidni Newell, Gabrielle Newell, Hayden Bruns and Aspen Bruns.

Denny graduated from East Peoria Community High School in 1977. He then went to work for the Amos Newell Bottle Gas Co. in East Peoria and later for Hohulin Fence Co. in Goodfield.

He was a member of the Laborers Local 165.

Denny always loved going fishing, hunting, camping with his family and friends, gardening, and his mother’s homemade noodles. He enjoyed when his dad took the family hunting for mushrooms, walnuts, and sassafras. He deeply cared for his family and friends and would give the shirt off his back to help others. Denny and Lori cared for their dogs: Ebony, Dixie, and cat Gracie.

Visitation will be Tuesday March 1, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.

Memorials may be made to “Hooked on Fishing” in East Peoria.
