He was born May 3, 1942 in Beardstown to Edward and Norma (Diebold) Shinall. He married Frieda Goben July 31, 1966 in East Peoria. She survives along with two sons: Daniel Shinall of East Peoria, Gannon Shinall of Peoria, one grandson, Cesar Shinall of Chillicothe, and one brother, Gary (Lorie) Shinall of Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Christine Shinall.
Don was an Army Veteran, worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 27 years, and was very active in the Boy Scouts when his children were young.
Visitation will be Friday April 23, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation.
