Dorothy "Dot" Velma Belcher

Dot was born on July 25, 1924 in Monmouth, IL to Roie William and Velma Susan (Young) Walker. She married Floyd George Belcher on November 4, 1946 in Kansas. He preceded her in death on February 18, 2001. Also preceding her in death are her parents; one daughter, Janice Cody; one daughter-in-law, Diane Smith Belcher; one son-in-law, David Lane; one granddaughter, Casey Everheart; her twin brother, Donald Walker; her brother, Loren “Bus” Walker; and one sister, Ella Dyer.

Surviving are her children, Carol (Francis) Mehn of East Peoria, IL, Floyd (Linda) Belcher of East Peoria, IL, Michael Belcher of Marquette Heights, IL, Ronald Belcher of Pekin, IL, Linda (Steven) Allen of Kissimmee, FL, Judy (John) Hultquist of Kissimmee, FL, Julia Lane of Kissimmee, FL, Sheryl (Wiley) Huggins of Washington, IL and Lorrie (Michael) Robson of Annandale, Virginia; one son-in-law, Jerry Cody of Kansas City, MO; 30 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, May Bourne of East Peoria, IL.

Dot was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, doll making, reading and doing puzzles.

Services will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 11am at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria with visitation held one hour prior to the service.
