She was born Nov. 5, 1942 in Peoria to John and Agnes (Zilch) Pate. She married Kenneth Elias May 10, 1970 in North Pekin. He survives along with three daughters: Denise (Stuart) Hershkowitz of Staten Island, NY, Leah (Dale) Matthews of Hot Springs, AR, Nicole (Greg) Miller of Washington, IL, one son, Kenneth Todd (Jessica) Elias of Peoria, eleven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and four sisters: Marian Reese, Jessie Connor, Shirley Blake, and Wendy Croxton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Jamie and Timothy Daugherty, and two brothers, Richard and Bernard Pate.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be Friday July 17, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
