Elmer L. Rentsch

East Peoria – Rentsch, Elmer L., 83 of East Peoria, IL passed away Friday, December 21, 2012 at Washington Christian Village. He was born March 13, 1929 in Metamora, IL to John and Katie Sorenberger Rentsch. He married Martyann Vicary Carrithers on October 8, 1983.

Surviving is his wife Martyann of East Peoria, IL, two step sons; Richard Pence of Peoria, IL and Danny Pence of Columbus, GA, three sisters; Katherine Aldridge of Sullivan, IL, Mary Fitzgerald of Metamora, IL, and Rose Clark of East Peoria, IL. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Margaret Rentsch, four brothers: Walter, Ben, Don, and Edward and one sister Christine.

Elmer was a machine repairman at Caterpillar for 39 years retiring in 1990. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. Elmer was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 2074 and American Legion Post 2, and a member of AMVETS Post 64, Elks Lodge in Peoria, Past President of the Izaak Walton League of East Peoria, and longtime member of the Eastern Star, Mohammed Shrine of Peoria, Scottish Rite Valley of Peoria and the Grotto.
