

He was born May 4, 1926 in LaSalle, IL to Richard and Katherine (Marchesi) Burroughs. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son Mark.
Surviving are four children, Connie (Joe) Waugh of Peoria, Curt (Bonnie) Burroughs of Washington, Becky Clark and Chuck Koch of Peoria and Mike (Jeanne) Burroughs of Peoria, seven grandchildren, and one great grandson.
Geno served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during World War II and worked as a Carpenter with the Carpenter Union Local 183 and Carpenter’s Union Local 1780 in Las Vegas, NV. He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the Carpenters Union for 60 years. His passion was the White Sox Baseball and supported many of their charities. He was especially proud of his brick at U.S. Cellular Field, placed in his honor. His love of baseball carried over into the coaching of Little League Baseball in Sunnyland at Oliver Thomas Field. Geno also enjoyed having coffee with the Brass Key Coffee Club in East Peoria and spending time with his family and Friends. He will be greatly missed.
A service will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at 11:00 am at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria, with visitation from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. The Rev. Jack Thompson will officiate. Burial will follow the service at St. Ann’s Cemetery in Toluca, IL
