

She was born on March 9, 1923 in Naples, Italy to Carmen and Immaculata (Barbata) Pacelli. She married Irvin Carl Walraven on February 19, 1953 in Naples, Italy. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, and one sister.
Surviving are her daughter, Anna (Robert) Bandy of East Peoria and son, Michael R. Walraven of Florida, five grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Healey, Michael C., Kristen, Kalie and Dillon Walraven and six great-grandchildren, Robby, Emily, Michael, Owen, Rymia and Rashawn.
Filomena worked as a cook in the V.F.W. kitchen, was a co-owner of Green Gables and cooked at Newell’s restaurant and Opal’s Truck Stop. She was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church, a member of the V.F.W. Women’s Auxiliary and the St. Monica’s Ladies Guild. Filomena had a wonderful gift for cooking and shared her incredible talent through the meals she prepared for family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2011 from 4 to 6 pm at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. A funeral mass will be at St. Monica Catholic Church on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 11:00 am, Father James Kruse will officiate. Cremation will be accorded following the service and a burial of the urn will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria at a later date.
