

He was born on April 27, 1928 in Mulberry, KS to Charles and Mary A. (Chandler) Bury. He married Laura Brakebill on November 1, 1947 in East Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Surviving are his wife, Laura of East Peoria, four children, Frank E. Bury of Jupiter, FL; Marlene K. (Denzil) Dawdy of Pembroke Pines, FL; Cheryl A. Uphoff of East Peoria; and Michael L. Bury of Jupiter, FL. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one sister, Mildred (Richard) Brooksbank of Pekin, IL and one brother, Carl (Pauline) Bury of East Peoria.
Frank served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for 31 years in the nail mill at Keystone Steel and Wire. He attended Bradley-Epworth United Methodist Church in Peoria, was a member of the American Legion Post 979 in Bartonville, the Wilmor Sportsman’s Club and the Independent Steel Workers Alliance. Frank was an avid fisherman, hunter, gardener and Cubs fan.
A funeral will be on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at Remmert Funeral Home. The Rev. Tom Eckhardt will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens, IL.
