Gladys L. Heaton, 93, of Dothan, Al. formerly of East Peoria passed away 8/11/2026. She was the daughter of the late Virgil E. Owsley and Annabelle (Thorpe)Owsley. She married Donald E. Heaton and he preceded her in death. Three brothers, William Owsley, Terry Owsley and Daniel Owsley also proceeded her in death.
Gladys was born December 17, 1932 in West Frankfort, Il. She is survived by 3 children Sue (Rick)Doering of East Peoria, David Heaton of Quincy, Fl , Douglas Heaton of Dothan, Al., one sister Lana Peters of Kansas City, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Gladys was a 1950 graduate of East Peoria High School and a Caterpillar retiree. She loved being outdoors and tending her garden.
Visitation will take place on Friday August 21st from 10AM till 12PM with service to follow at Remmert Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fondulac Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or TAPS.
