

East Peoria – Herman “Joe” Wells, 79, of East Peoria passed away at 11:42 a.m. Friday November 11, 2011 at his home. He was born January 27, 1932 in Wayne City, IL to Homer and Lillie (Trotter) Wells.
Joe married Mary F. Moschel who survives along with four sons; Dennis (Debbie) Wells, Curtis (Vikki) Wells, both of East Peoria, Tim (Barb) Wells of Deer Creek, IL, and Mark Wells of Metamora, IL, ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two brothers; Homer (Shirley) Wells of East Peoria, IL, and Melvin (Janet) Wells of Morton, IL, two sisters; Mary Auxier of Centralia, IL, and Betty (Ron) Kellum of East Peoria, IL.
Joe worked for Carver Lumber Company for 29 years as a dispatcher retiring in 1994. He then went to work part-time for Remmert Funeral Home.
Joe was a member of Richland Southern Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, door greeter, usher, and trustee.
Services will be held at 10 am Tuesday November 15, 2011 at Richland Southern Baptist Church in East Peoria. Rev. Gary England and Rev. Richard Rosenbush will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 5 – 8 pm at Remmert Funeral Home and 9 – 9:45 am at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton.
