

He was born on January 28, 1933 in Farmington, IL to Orville and Velma (VanHouten) Dixon. He married Patricia Kelly on July 23, 1970 in Peoria. She preceded him in death in 1996 in Peoria. His parents, one son, Patrick Dixon and one step-son, Michael Alexander also preceded him in death.
Surviving are two sons, Michael (Jeanette) Dixon and Curtis Dixon both of East Peoria, one daughter, Kellie (Erik) Roecker of Morton, a step-daughter, Teresa (Pete) Hupke of Delavan and two step-sons, Louis “Bud” (Carol) Maliongas and George Alexander both of St. Paul, MN and Cheryl Hinds his companion. Also surviving are many grandchildren, three brothers, Ted, Larry and Dick Dixon and one sister, Ginger Robinson.
Jack will be remembered as a man who loved life and known to many as “Pop’.
He was an Army Veteran and a lifelong member of the Teamsters Union. Jack was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, the Teamster Local 120 in St. Paul, MN and a member of the American Legion Post 318 in Morton. Jack enjoyed riding his motorcycle, boating, playing cards and golfing.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2010 from 6 to 8 pm at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. A funeral will be held on Friday, March 5, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Funeral Home. Father Thomas Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
