He was born October 31, 1930 in Waco, Alabama the son of Emmett and Florence Hovater Hill. He married Wilda Seay in Iuka, Mississippi. They came to Illinois and opened the Cottage Café in the Cloverdale area. They later divorced. He later married Judy, and adopted her son, Jim (Buddy) Hill. She preceded him in death. He later married Sue Johnson for a short time. He later married Charlotte Ball Fosdyck Porter in 1986. She survives.
Jack is also survived by his step-children, Larry (Phylis) Fosdyck, Randy (Becky) Fosdyck, Wendy (Michael) Hartland, and Barry (Beth) Porter; several nieces and nephews; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his adopted son, Jim Hill and his children.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lewis Hill and his wife Helen; two sisters, Susie Horton and her husband Lewis, and Francis Hill; three nephews and one niece.
Jack was a carpenter last working for Rothan Millwork Company until his retirement in 1990.
He was a member of East Peoria First Baptist Church in East Peoria.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Monday, March 26, 2018 at Remmert Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Pastor Keith Ingold will officiate.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, his church, or Vitas Hospice.
