Janice Kay Blumenstock

Janice was born in Peoria on August 17, 1952, to Percy and Rosie (Fobar) Newell. On September 21, 1970, she married the love of her life, David L. Blumenstock. They shared 55 years of marriage together before David’s passing on July 14, 2026. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Janice will be lovingly remembered by her two sons: Brad (Heather) Blumenstock and Erik (Natasha) Blumenstock, both of East Peoria; her cherished granddaughter, Haley Blumenstock; and her sister, Cheryl (Bob) Kern of East Peoria.

For 18 years, Janice was co-owner of Newell’s Family Restaurant in East Peoria, where she became a familiar and friendly face to many in the community. Her dedication to her family and the people around her will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Janice’s greatest joy was her family, and she will be deeply missed by her sons, granddaughter, sister, extended family, and many friends.

Cremation rites have been accorded. She will be laid to rest with her husband in Fondulac Cemetery. Remmert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
