He was born April 16, 1942 in Glen Arm, IL to James and Bertha (Elmore) Humphrey. He first married Linda Webster. He later married Cynthia Rinehart on Feb. 24, 1990 in Peoria. She survives along with one daughter, Lori (Mike) Molitor of Bloomington, one son, Michael (Renee) Humphrey of Hopedale, seven grandchildren: Ben (Janet) Trout, Sean Humphrey, Emily Humphrey, Kayti Brandt, Austyn Brandt, Trevor Young, and Kori Young. He was also survived by six great-grandchildren, and three sisters: Joy Dougherty of Springfield, IL, Donna (Fred) Cook of Springfield, and Betty Stull of East Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Christopher Brandt, and two sisters: Martha Wilson and Maxine Pryor.
Jimmie was a United States Navy Veteran. He worked for Caterpillar, Inc. as a Pipefitter for 32 years retiring in 2001. He then worked as a Valet at the Par-A-Dice Casino. He attended Northwood’s Community Church in Peoria.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Visitation will be two hours prior to the services on Saturday.
Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
Memorials may be made to Sojourn Bear, Inc. or the Illinois Cancer Center on Rt 91.
