She was born November 20, 1932 in Makanda, IL to Lawrance and Mildred (Ragsdale) Tuttle. She married Reuben E. Krigbaum on July 1, 1950 in East Peoria. He preceded her in death on March 31, 2017. Her parents, one daughter Kelly Hartter and one granddaughter, Lindsey also preceded her in death.
Surviving are her three daughters, Kim (Dan) Schilling of Edwards, Kari (Ron) Potter of Morton and Kriste (Ed) Eden of Brimfield; three grandchildren, Dana (Trey), Benjamin (Christina), Adam (Ashley); three step-grandchildren, Doug, Nicky, and Amanda; four great-grandchildren, Haley, Beck, Ava, and Remi, and her son-in-law Tom Hartter.
Joann was one of the first women Barbers in the Peoria area working first with Starnes Barber Shop and then opened her own business at the Metro Center. Joann then purchased her own shop, Joann's Metropole Barber Shop which is still run by her daughters. She had a love for traveling, dancing and animals, but her greatest love was taking care of her clients for over 50 years.
A graveside service will be Friday, September 28, 2018 at 1:30 pm at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Remmert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
